Anthem TPEQEA Paragraph Model
Equality 7-2521 is a major character in the story Anthem by Ayn Rand. Equality 7-251 is seen living underground in the tunnels because he does not want to be the same as everyone else in their society. In this society they are given numbers as names and are told what they can and cannot be. Rand states, “ We are one in all and all in one. There are no men but only the great WE, One, indivisible and forever” (Rand 19). This quote shows how the people are often viewed as a unit instead of as an individual. This is important to understand the way the society views Equality and other individuals.
